Biodex Isokinetic Testing and Training

Return-to-sport isokinetic testing

Biodex strength tests are used by our therapists to evaluate weaknesses in key muscles. Data acquired during testing is used to track our athletes’ strength throughout their program at Movement F1rst.

Using our extensive database and the latest research, we are able to compared each athlete’s strength to the normal values of other athletes in their respective sport.

Strength reports generated provide key data in the rehabilitation of multiple injuries and conditions including, but not limited to:

  • ACL Reconstruction

  • Patellar Tendinitis

  • Hamstrings Strains

  • Labrum and Rotator Cuff Repairs

  • Low Back Pain

  • Knee Pain

In addition, a Biodex can reveal imbalances in muscle groups that can increase the risk of injury such as:

  • A LOW ratio of strength between hamstrings strength and quadriceps strength that can increase the likelihood of HAMSTRINGS STRAIN

  • A relatively HIGH quadriceps strength number compared to glute strength that may predispose an athlete to experience KNEE PAIN

Training on the Biodex

Training on the Biodex allows for precise parameters to be met in order to more efficiently target increases in strength and hypertrophy

  • Combine with blood-flow restriction training to more accurately deliver results

  • Use eccentric-only training on the Biodex to reach your strength goals sooner

90-90 Eccentric Hamstring Training

  • Appropriately train the hamstrings in the high speeds necessary to return to sprinting
